José oversees JAB’s global consumer goods and services investments, with a focus on operating and financial performance of JAB’s exciting consumer assets and the development of new business opportunities. He also serves as Chairman of JAB’s restaurant business, guiding its strategic direction.  

He brings more than 30 years of experience in global consumer and restaurant leadership. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of multiple quick-service restaurant brands, including Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes. He also spent 16 years in leadership roles at Burger King, including as Global President and President of EMEA and Vice President of Company Operations in the United States.   

He serves on the Boards of Panera Bread, Bagel Brands, Pret A Manger, Espresso House and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. He also serves as a Council Member of the Florida Council of 100 and the Orange Bowl Committee, and is a member of the Board of Advisors of Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami.
