Anant acts in concert with Joachim and Frank on JAB’s capital allocation priorities. His purview extends to the strategic architecture of JAB’s global insurance interest, overseeing a network of insurers and reinsurers across the US, Bermuda and the UK.

A leader with a tenure spanning 25 years, Anant is a practiced operator in the intersection of asset management, banking, insurance.  Most recently, as CEO of American Equity (AEL), he stewarded the firm’s resurgence as a top three retirement income provider in the US.  This trajectory, marked by the formation of its private asset investment manager, precipitated an acquisition by Brookfield Corporation – realizing a threefold return for shareholders over a five year tenure.

Earlier in his career, Anant served as the CFO of MetLife’s US business, where he engineered the divestiture of its largest business into Brighthouse Financial. His three decades of experience includes senior leadership and fiduciary stewardship at firms such as AIG, Lincoln Financial Group and Ameriprise Financial.
